The Round of 32 wrapped on July 3, and for the first time this summer we can see the whole knockout picture. Sixteen teams remain, all three co-hosts among them — the United States, Mexico and Canada — and the bracket is now a fixed ladder to the final in New Jersey on July 19. For a Canadian audience there is an added thrill: Les Rouges are on that ladder, and I have mapped exactly what their route to a first-ever quarter-final, and beyond, would look like.

Canada’s Path to the Final
This is what a Canadian fan really wants mapped out. Beat Morocco today and Canada go to Foxborough on July 9 for a quarter-final against the winner of Paraguay vs France — most likely France, the tournament favourite, which would be a monumental step up. Survive that, and a semi-final on July 14 would follow, before the final in East Rutherford on July 19.
It is a daunting route, and honesty demands saying Morocco are favourites to end it this afternoon. But a month ago "Canada’s path to the final" was not a sentence worth writing at all — now it is, and that alone marks how far this team has come.
- All 16 Round-of-16 teams are confirmed; ties run July 4–7 across the United States, Mexico and Canada.
- All three co-hosts — USA, Mexico and Canada — reached the last 16.
- France (2.80) are the clear outright favourites, with Argentina (4.70) next.
- Colombia and Morocco are the most-backed dark horses in the 28.00–41.00 range.
- Canada’s path: beat Morocco, then a July 9 quarter-final in Foxborough against the Paraguay/France winner.
